Warmest greetings to you

Thank you for taking the time to explore my website, I know there are a lot of practitioners to choose from – this is a great thing, as demand for holistic well-being grows.

With an overstretched, under resourced health system, we are being called to take responsibility for our own health, prevent chronic disease and heal ourselves as much as possible. This is counter intuitive for people who expect the healthcare system to look after them but makes perfect sense when you consider the large population and the number of healthcare professionals in GP clinics, specialist centres and hospitals.

It is also a very exciting part of our health journey to realise that we can make a positive, lasting difference in our own lives and share our knowledge with family members.

It is estimated that at least 75% of all chronic disease – heart conditions, diabetes, cancer, autoimmune diseases, inflammatory conditions etc. are caused by lifestyle choices, which means they are also preventable if we can change our mindset, habits and routines.

This means we can learn to age well, thriving and remaining active well into our 90’s and beyond. I have learned many secrets from Centenarians and I’m happy to share them with you. Working with older adults is a huge honour for me, the learning definitely works both ways!

about
Brave & Blissful

Clients come to see me about discontentment with themselves, relationships or life in general; uncertainty about the future, anxiety, low mood, grief and loss.

These aspects of life are all part of being human but many of us are not prepared for the challenges life brings and so are prone to struggle, reacting to life, believing that it is cruel and “out to get them” leaving them feeling out of control and powerless to make changes.

Nothing could be further from the truth and as we explore thoughts, feelings, beliefs, values, conditioning, trauma, clients begin to see that there are things we can control and those that we can’t. They realise too that the mind, heart and body are all connected and we need to learn to take care of our whole selves in order to feel whole and complete, just as we are.

There are many other “side effects’’of living more mindfully – having more time, feeling more thankful, and seeing the world in totally new ways are just a few!

My recommendation is that you also receive good GP, Dental and other appropriate types of healthcare as needed. We are complex spiritual beings living a human life and we need lots of tools in the kit!

About Brave & Blissful

My story

Born in Wellington/Te Whanganui-a-Tara, I’ve lived most of my life in Auckland/Tāmaki Makaurau where I came to understand the benefits of mindfulness through Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, for family carers dealing with constant stress in their relationships with people living with dementia.

Mindfulness is an effective way to help us deal with all life challenges and situations, including those involving change, loss and grief.

All the qualifications I have obtained and my life experience has brought me to a place of understanding that I am responsible for my own health and well-being. My thoughts and feelings affect my body and in turn this influences how I function and live my life day to day.

Looking after my body, eating well, exercising daily, and ensuring I get a good sleep each night, has made a huge difference to how I feel and to how I engage with the world.

Doing all these things as mindfully as possible helps me stay grounded and solid in my sense of equanimity. I feel younger now than I did a decade ago!

I recently relocated to The Bluff/Motupōhue, so that I can live a more authentic, peaceful and joyous life. I am blessed to be fit and healthy, and after raising 5 children, I have a well-developed sense of humour!

I am loving exploring spectacular Te Wai Pounamu and there is still so much for me to experience – so much natural beauty to appreciate and so many wonderful people to connect with.

I encourage you to look at all the services I offer and if you would like to see if we are the right fit to work together, you can book in a 15-minute Zoom call free of charge.

With love and blessings on your journey,
